Getting Ready For Halloween Safety

With Halloween rapidly approaching there is much to be done. There are costumes to be completed, candy to be purchased and spooky decorations to be hung. In addition to all of these items, don't forget to take into account some Halloween safety tips that will keep everyone safe this Halloween season.

Parents

  • Make sure you review the rules of crossing the road with your children. Kids of all ages can use a friendly reminder and for the little ones; make sure you cross with them and accompany them.
  • Hand out some extra costume items to your kids before they leave. Flashlights, glow sticks and blinking light necklaces will help them stay visible.

Drivers

  • Keep your headlights on and stay alert if you have to drive during the hours of trick or treating in your area.
  • Keep your speed to a minimum. Especially on side streets where there will be kids running all over the place.
